A New Song (+Midweek Updates)
Good morning, Immanuel. All believers share the song of God’s goodness and mercy for the undeserving. Anyone can get in on this!
“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God” (Psalm 40:3).
The fruit of God’s mercy and grace in David’s life was a song of praise in David’s mouth. The same pattern is true of us today. The grace of God is the soundtrack of the saints. The Apostle Paul echoes this theme in Ephesians when he says that our salvation is “to the praise of his glorious grace.” God’s redemption produces people who are spring-loaded with praise back to God because of His mercy. So whether you are black or white, young or old, male or female, near or far, believers share a common redemption and song— the song of God’s goodness and mercy for the undeserving. Anyone can get in on this!
“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.” - John Newton
-
”The Lord has provided atonement Through faith in the Lamb we receive
And we cannot boast for one moment It’s only by grace we believe
We’re seated in heavenly places United with Jesus our King
God’s kindness in all coming ages Will cause us to worship and sing” - Shai Linne & Leah Smith

STAFF PICKS
A curated selection of local food joints, coffee shops, books, and other recommendations by the staff of Immanuel. Today’s staff picks are all about great views (and places to walk) in the Nashville area. Ranked in no particular order:
Bells Bend Park - “This rural preserve is defined by its agricultural history, its bountiful opportunities for viewing wildlife, and a landscape shaped by the river.”
The Natchez Trace Parkway - “The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states.”
Narrows of the Harpeth Trail - “Enjoy this 1.0-mile out-and-back trail near Kingston Springs, Tennessee.”
Bledsoe Creek State Park - “There are more than four miles of scenic hiking trails. The trails meander through the forest and along the lake shore of the park. One mile of these trails is paved making it accessible to persons with disabilities. The trails are open year round.”
Radnor Lake - “It is unique due to the abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities. The 1,368 acres nature preserve lies just outside Nashville. Five miles of unpaved trails wander through the woods surrounding the lake.”
Maybe one of these excellent places will be the location of your next walk with a friend from Immanuel!
