All Who Labor

Good morning Immanuel. Jesus invites us to come to Him. We cannot come too often or stay too long. All who are burdened may come.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

He is speaking imploringly.

He is talking about what he will do for everyone who is burdened in soul.

He is imploring us to bring our burdened souls to Him and receive rest.

Here is the undefeatable cure for every burdened soul, “Come to me, all.” We cannot come too often or stay too long. All who are burdened may come.

To live in the restful company of our Lord is our heart’s desire. But what of His desire? What’s in it for Him?

The intricate ecosystems and grand geographical phenomena of creation show us the glory of God the Creator. The great kingdoms of humanity throughout millennia show us something of the glory of God the source of all reason. But only the gentle and lowly Jesus shows us the glory of God our merciful Savior. Only the cross shows us grace and justice in one place.
