Because of Him
Good morning Immanuel family! Here is a brief word of encouragement along with a midweek update.
“And because of him you are in Christ Jesus,” (1 Corinthians 1:30).
How wonderful to know that the only way to account for our salvation is the intervention of God! The fact that salvation is from God sometimes troubles us because it means that we are not the security of our destiny, but this is to be troubled by our greatest comfort. God does not show us that He is the author of salvation to make us afraid but to give us hope.
If salvation is because of him, then no one is beyond saving. But if we’re counting on our ability to hold on to God—if it is our cleverness and discipline that gets us into Christ—then it’s just a matter of time before our ignorance and failure send us away.
Rejoice, dear Immanuel family; our salvation is because of him. Therefore, we can relax in Christ Jesus today. We cannot sin our way out of a relationship that we did not earn our way into. And this glorious fact of grace energizes us to live near Him all our days.
Heavenly Father, please settle us down deep into the security of your grace today. In the holy name of Christ, we pray, amen.
