Christmas Eve Services (+Holy Communion)
Good morning, Immanuel. The incarnation of Jesus brings us hope!
“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7).
If the King of Glory chose to make His grand entrance into this world in the most unassuming of ways and amidst the most unflattering living conditions, then we can have confidence that He came for us. Earthly kings would present themselves in royal garments, flanked by the most noble subjects, seated in the best accommodations. Honorable kings may perhaps invite mere peasants to catch a glimpse of their greatness. But the King Eternal chose to write himself into the story as the least among us, adorned in the swaddling garments of humility - a visible picture of His incarnation. His humility is what brings Him near to us and is also what attracts us to Him. As we consider His humility, we have every reason to, with boldness, draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need!
