Faith Is Not Blindness
Good morning Immanuel. Faith is not blindness, but eyes to see the true beauty of Christ!
“By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.” (Hebrews 11:24-26)
Faith is not blindness. The gift of faith is the spiritual capacity to peer beyond the superficial to see the beauty and worth of Jesus.
Why did Moses refuse an identity that would have given him access to power, pleasure, and wealth? Why did he choose to identify with the people of God and suffer mistreatment instead? The answer is that Moses walked by faith—and not a blind faith that hopes for the best outcome; Moses walked by seeing faith! On the surface, it would appear as if the power and pleasure of Egypt were the supreme rewards. But on second glance, through the eyes of faith, Moses could look beyond that to see a greater and better reward in God. His faith was not blind, but it was the spiritual capacity to peer beyond the superficial to see that there was more to gain by suffering with Christ than “winning” without him!
Dear believer, our faith is not blindness. Faith is the gift of spiritual sight to see the incomparable beauty of Jesus. Now, we behold Him as we hear and receive the gospel message. One day we will all see Him face to face, and on that day, our joy will be complete as we lovingly behold the One who first loved us!
Heard and read this many times before. However, perhaps never so well crafted! Problem is, I need to hear this AT LEAST DAILY! Thank you,.
