Friday Fun + This Sunday!
Good morning Immanuel. Let's prepare for Sunday with a light-hearted reminder of Carolfest 2022.
“As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight” (Psalm 16:3).
Despite their infirmities, their Lord thinks highly of them, and reckons them to be as nobles among men. - C.H. Spurgeon
Here at Immanuel, we view each other in light of God’s own opinion of us. So, as the Lord thinks highly of the saints, so we think highly of one another for the sake of Christ. Keep that in mind as I take you on a brief ride down memory lane from last year’s Carolfest.
What is Carolfest? Every December, Immanuel throws a huge celebration called Carolfest. Think fun, games, songs, and joy in Jesus with our friends, family, and neighbors. Last year, our first-ever Carolfest Cookie Competition stole the show, with Immanuel's kids putting together an assortment of delicious and creative cookies. The moment that seized our attention was reading the tasting notes provided by our dear brother John Behrens - one of the excellent ones! Concerning one cookie entry, John noted that the icing “Sparks an immediate massage of deserty decadence. Admirable execution!” One entry gained high marks from Behrens, “Smooth even texture. A bloom of sweet buttery aroma.” What a brilliant description! And lest we think our cookie connoisseur is hard to please, consider his appreciation for the simple things in life with this comment - “Crisp! Light. Good! Simple. Satisfying.” What a way to encourage our young bakers!
As Immanuel’s staff plans for this year’s upcoming Carolfest in December, we can’t wait to see the faces and hear the voices of all the excellent ones coming together, laughing and making melody to Jesus because of His goodness and grace!
If this Pulse gave you a little chuckle, swing over to TGC and read how we can be thankful for the gift of laughter.

HOPE SMILES DENTAL OUTREACH - Hope Smiles is an organization that exists to develop leaders who transform lives through dentistry in underserved communities in Nashville and far beyond. One of Immanuel's very own members, Ryan Shinska, is an integral part of the Hope Smiles team and is happy to invite you to an exciting new opportunity! Join us on October 28th from 7 am to 2 pm at Immanuel Nashville's gymnasium for a Dental Outreach event. They will be offering essential dental services such as extractions, fillings, and cleanings to our Nashville neighbors. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve our community and to make the real Jesus non-ignorable in our city. There are various ways to get involved:
Spanish Translator(s): If you are fluent in Spanish, your language skills can make a significant impact by helping us bridge communication gaps.
Arabic Translator: We are also looking for an Arabic translator to assist patients who speak Arabic.
Patient Escorts: Volunteers to guide patients from station to station, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience.
Patient Experience Volunteers: Join our team to provide comfort by distributing water, food, and other essentials to patients.
Community Engagement: For those who want to connect on a personal level, consider spending time with patients, offering prayers, or sharing the message of hope through Jesus.
This outreach is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who may not have access to dental care or know someone in need.
Let's come together as a community to spread smiles, compassion, and the love of Christ. Your involvement can truly make a difference.
For more information or to sign up as a volunteer, please contact Ryan Shinska at ryan@hopesmiles.org.
Smiling. Thankful. 🙏🏼
