God Is Not Unjust
Good morning Immanuel. And if God didn’t overlook the work of His Son, surely He will not ignore our work in His name, however modest (or overlooked) that may be!
“For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do” (Hebrews 10:10).
So much of what we do for the good of others happens behind the scenes, largely unnoticed by the public. And this is a blessing because doing good for others is not about being recognized. However, over time, we can begin to grow weary in doing well. We might find ourselves discouraged because it seems as if our sacrifice doesn’t matter. Sometimes we can even begin to feel as if God has forgotten us.
So when the Bible seeks to encourage us, it doesn’t shame us for feeling discouraged. It doesn’t tell us to suck it up and get over it. Instead, the Bible reminds us of what God is NOT - God is not unjust! And because He is not unjust, He will not overlook the little things done for the sake of His name. One day, all things will be made right, and we can be certain of this because God raised His Son, Jesus, from the grave in victory. And if God didn’t overlook the work of His Son, surely He will not ignore the work we do in His name, however modest (or overlooked) that may be!
This is true, and reminds me, encourages me. Thank you Tony 🙏🏼
