Pray Without Ceasing: Our Invitation
The Lord welcomes us to pray always and in all circumstances.
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
These verses are not meant to make us feel guilty for all the times we fail to rejoice, pray, and give thanks. On the contrary, they are meant to remind us of God’s constant nearness in our daily lives.
The King of the universe welcomes the interruptions of His children—interruptions that happen always, without ceasing, and in all circumstances. The great God of heaven is not distant and far off but near and involved in every moment of our lives.
We are invited to rejoice always because even mundane moments with Jesus are leading us toward deeper joy in Him. We are invited to pray without ceasing because even our smallest needs become opportunities to experience the vastness of Christ's love. We are invited to give thanks in all circumstances because Jesus is with us in every circumstance, whether great or small.
God is near to us in every little moment, which means He never wastes them. He is good. He is with us. And he is working!
Thank you Tony! I am so thankful for the body of Christ. Honesty, sometimes we feel so weak, it is hard to pray. But God provided a way to pray without ceasing though our brothers and sisters who pray for and with us in such moments!
Good news!!!
