Strengthened by Grace
Good morning Immanuel! The key to living in the grace of Christ is to keep relying on the strength of Christ.
“You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 2:1)
Grace means we don’t have to pare down our future to the size of our abilities. Rather, we can begin all our thinking and planning from the strengthening grace of Christ. And there is no source of strength more secure than the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
To begin with, the grace that is in Christ Jesus is inexhaustible grace. He is the living one who is alive forevermore. Therefore, we cannot lean too heavily on Him.
But the grace that is in Christ Jesus is also accessible grace. He is full of grace and truth for sinners like us who don’t deserve Him. Therefore, His power is always available. The key to living in the grace of Christ is to keep relying on the strength of Christ.
Immanuel, let’s live in ways that will fail without the strengthening grace of Christ today!
