“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).
Every soul is hungry for something. Some try to satisfy that hunger with ambition or applause. Others turn to comfort, distraction, or control. But like a meal that cannot truly fill us, these things leave us empty again.
The world offers countless options, each one promising to meet our needs. Yet deep down, our hearts ache for something greater than what this world can give. Jesus understands that ache. He does not shame us for feeling it. Instead, he invites us to bring it to him.
This is the beauty of the gospel: Jesus doesn’t just offer good things—Jesus himself is the good thing. He is the bread of life. He is living water. He is our hope, our righteousness, and our peace. In Jesus, we do not simply survive but are satisfied.
He welcomes the weary and the weak. He strengthens the fainthearted. He restores the broken. So let us lift our eyes to Jesus and receive, by faith, the gift of His goodness and grace. He is enough to satisfy the deepest hunger in our souls.
Amen! Thanks for this.
