The Daily + New Getty Release + This Sunday
Immanuel celebrates the release of a new Getty song!
“He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God” (Psalm 40:3).
The fruit of God’s mercy and grace in David’s life was a song of praise in David’s mouth. The same pattern is true of us today. The grace of God is the soundtrack of the saints. The Apostle Paul echoes this theme in Ephesians when he says that our salvation is “to the praise of his glorious grace.” God’s redemption produces people who are spring-loaded with praise back to God because of His mercy. So whether you are black or white, young or old, male or female, near or far, believers share a common redemption and a common song— the song of God’s goodness and mercy for the undeserving. Anyone can get in on this, and one way is through joining us in celebrating the release of But for the Cross of Christ —a new hymn written by Immanuel’s very own Bryan Fowler and Jessica Waterman in collaboration with Getty Music.
Recorded live at the Sing! Conference (2024), this powerful song brings together thousands of voices in worship, accompanied by a live rhythm band. This hymn speaks to God’s grace displayed in the Cross and to its daily work—offering forgiveness, granting peace, and providing hope beyond death. This song was first written for Immanuel’s sermon series, Good News in Three Dimensions, and we are happy that it has expanded to churches far beyond Immanuel.
We hope this song is a testimony to the unshakable hope believers have in Jesus, reminding the church that the cross is the ongoing foundation of our lives. But for the Cross of Christ is now available everywhere!
