The Key Difference (Converted & Unconverted)
Good morning, Immanuel. The presence of sin (or the lack thereof) does not explain the difference between the converted and the unconverted.
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).
What’s the key difference between the converted and the unconverted? Some years ago, Ray Ortlund helped me answer that question with a quote from the 19th Century Scottish minister, William Arnot. He wrote:
The difference between an unconverted and a converted man is not that one has sins and the other has none; but that the one takes part with his cherished sins against a dreaded God, and the other takes part with a reconciled God against his hated sins.
