“He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken” (Psalm 62:2).
Sometimes, life feels disorienting. Seasons change, relationships shift, and the once-stable ground beneath us trembles. When things get shaken—whether through unexpected challenges, losses, or doubts—it’s easy to feel disoriented, even fearful. But Scripture reminds us that these shakings serve a purpose: to expose what is temporary and direct us to what is eternal.
Hebrews 12:27 speaks of God’s work in shaking the things that can be shaken, so what is unshakable remains. When the foundations of our lives are rattled, we’re invited to put our hope in something greater than our circumstances: Christ and His unshakable kingdom. This kingdom, established by his life, death, and resurrection, cannot be moved. It stands “firm through the fiercest drought and storm.”
And what is the goal of receiving such a gift? Worship. Hebrews 12:28–29 continues: “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” The response to an unshakable kingdom is a heart captivated by God’s glory and gratitude. Worship becomes the overflow of realizing that Christ is our fortress, our rock, and our salvation.
If life feels shaky right now, take heart. The shaking is not a sign of God’s absence but His gracious hand inviting you to deeper reliance on Him. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the unshakable King who reigns with love and power. When we see the unchanging love of Jesus—the One who was shaken for us on the cross so we could stand firm in His kingdom—our hearts are stirred to respond in worship. And so, we worship not out of fear but out of joy. He has given us a kingdom that will never crumble. In Him, we shall not be greatly shaken.

ON THE HORIZON - JANUARY 19TH BUILDING DEDICATION!
Join us on Sunday, January 19th, as we celebrate the dedication of 4301 Charlotte Avenue with a special day of worship and fellowship. The day will begin at 9:00 AM with a coffee and pastry hour, followed by a single worship service at 10:00 AM. Seating will be available in both the main worship center and Sadler Chapel. After the service, everyone is invited to pick up a lunch bag and find a spot on campus to enjoy a meal with others as we celebrate what the Lord is doing. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the building, prayerfully walk the grounds, and dream about how God will use this space for His glory. This is a time to reflect, connect, and celebrate as a church family. We can’t wait to see you there!
God be praised!
