The Wedding We Were Made For
In the arms of Christ, the longing of every heart finds its true home.
“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth... and I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Revelation 21:1–2).
Every heart longs for a love that lasts. Some of us catch imperfect glimpses of that love in marriage. Some of us are grieving its absence. Some of us are still waiting. But beneath every longing—for connection, for belonging, for unbreakable love—is a deeper truth: we were made for Jesus.
The Bible begins with a wedding—and it ends with one, too. In the Garden of Eden, God gave Adam and Eve to each other in perfect joy. But sin fractured the union, and the world has been longing for restoration ever since. Yet God would not leave His Bride in ruin. He wrote himself into the story. At the cross, Jesus—the greater Groom—laid down His life to bring His people back to Himself. And one day soon, the waiting will be over. The skies will split. The King will come. The Bride will rise. And the wedding song will never end. In the arms of Christ, the longing of every heart finds its true home.
