We are the Beloved of Christ
Good morning Immanuel! Let's begin our morning by reminding ourselves of God's relationship with us.
“My beloved is mine, and I am his; He pastures his flock among the lilies.” (Song of Solomon 2:16, NASB)
We are Christ’s bride, and he chooses to love us. We are not worthy of this love. We run after other gods in this world, but he always draws us back with his faithful, eternal love for us. Upon return, he welcomes us home like the prodigal son’s father.
When we come to Jesus with our sin, shame, and scars, he says to us, “There’s my bride, and she is my beloved. I will receive her to make her holy. I will wash her with the water of the word. She will be my bride without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish” (Ephesians 5:26–27).
Song of Solomon 2:16 reminds us that he is ours, but we are his beloved bride. We are prone to wander, but he remains, and his love welcomes us back in his embrace.
Dear family, we are the beloved of Christ, and he is ours. Receive that love today.
