When Our Strength Fails + Tonight!
When we hit the wall, Jesus meets us with mercy and power, not demands.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Weight training is hard work. Sometimes at the gym, you’ll see someone reach "muscle failure" — the point where they physically cannot lift anymore. It’s humbling, but it’s also the start of real transformation. At the soul level, many of us know what that feels like: the exhaustion of hitting a wall, of realizing we just don't have it in us. But the grace of God shines in moments like that. When our strength fails, his grace holds. When our faith feels too small, his promises remain enormous. When we reach our limits, there is an opportunity for Jesus to show us the kind of friend He truly is for weak and weary people like us.
We may put demands on ourselves, but Jesus never demands that we be strong enough. Instead, he invites us to lean into his strength — a strength that never wavers, even when ours completely gives out. He meets our weakness, not with shame, but with sustaining mercy and power. His power is made perfect in our weakness. Glory be to God!
